Research supported by Region Skåne must be of high national and international quality and benefit both citizens and health care.

Region Skåne supports and conducts high-quality research, often in collaboration with universities, industry, and other partners at both national and international levels.

 Research activities focus on improving prevention, diagnostics, and treatment within the regional health care system, while also contributing to innovation and societal growth. Clinical research is carried out across a wide range of fields, including primary care, epidemiology, and medical sciences.

Research results are communicated through scientific publications and public research events. Funding is provided through Region Skåne’s internal R&D budget, the Swedish government, charitable donations and trusts, and external research funding agencies.
