Region Skåne is the public organisation that acts on behalf of the Regional Assembly. It is headed by a Regional Chief Executive Officer and has its head office in the city of Kristianstad.
Region Skåne employs around 32,000 people, most of whom work in the healthcare sector, in hospitals, primary healthcare units or dental services. Other regional offices act as executives to the Regional Assembly and its committees. There are also a number of offices that provide technical and material assistance.
Region Skåne also owns Business Region Skåne, which control the Skåne brand and the regional offices for tourism, investments and events.
