The safety of our patients is a high-priority for all nursing staff at Skåne University Hospital. Each individual employee shall help to ensure the patient safety culture is maintained to a high level. For us, it is self-evident that the care we give our patients shall be of a high quality.
As a large number of ill and injured people are cared for in a hospital at one time, this can obviously lead to certain risks being present. Unfortunately, patients are sometimes affected by carerelated infections, pressure sores, injuries resulting from falls or being given the wrong medication. Naturally, we are constantly working to minimise the number of care-related injuries and illnesses affecting patients. Patient safety is one of the most important issues in our hospital.
The foundation of this work lies in risk awareness, discrepancy management and routine analyses. We analyse serious incidents and send notification to Sweden's National Board of Health and Welfare.
